meet your coach
Hi! I’m Melissa Blandford, your coach.
I am in my 3rd year of business helping women just like you harness the power of their paycheck.
Finances can feel so overwhelming. I help break it down into small actionable steps and pair it with education and mindset work to help ensure your success and support you along the journey.
Let my knowledge and experience be the guide on your journey to your best life.
love notes...
It feels so good to not have that urge to spend as soon as I get paid, but to see interest accrue, and to save. I was used to not having a lot so when I made it I had a whole laundry list of things I "had" to buy. To say I've overcome that is amazing, and I just hope that if you are feeling stuck or suffocating in your finances, that this gives you the glimpse of hope you were seeking to break free of the baggage and the guilt. -Erica Carter
Melissa is wonderful to work with. Certainly punctual, she is also flexible and very dependable. Over the past few months I have gone from wondering if this would work to having Melissa as my mentor and secret weapon.
I will never fall prey to those that sell money again.
I am starting off the New Year with my bills 100% in my control. My debt leading into the New Year will be paid off before Spring. With the exception of a mortgage I will be debt and worry free.
I work hard and sacrifice a lot for it. I am looking forward to finally enjoying my money, sharing it with my family and being free of the stress and hassle of bills, bills, bills.
After I FINALLY discovered my super hidden limiting belief around money (people will judge me if I have lots of it)— I went to Melissa because I was still feeling conflicted. I KNEW what the limiting belief was but it still felt Icky and confusing! After getting on the phone with her for an hour— we had completely worked through it....In the days to come afterward, I experienced SO MUCH ABUNDANCE and freedom from the chains of money! This chick is not your average money coach. She knows which questions to ask and when to help you move forward! Book the freaking call already!! -Sara Smith
My money was the boss of my life, running me ragged, telling what to do and how to do it instead of the other way around. To be honest before I talked to Melissa I wasn’t even sure how much money I made, let alone how much money I owed. And when I finally looked at it I was pissed for like three days! Working with Melissa was the best decision that I made all year! She helped get a clear picture of what I had, what I wanted and gave me some easy stress frees steps to follow to get there. I highly recommend this program. - Chanel
She challenged me to list 30 results or impacts that I have gotten from the transformation that I am offering to others through my services. Writing these down made me realize just how much I have gained from going through the process of getting my finances in order and taking control of my money. I knew I believed in the service that I am offering to others but having it all on paper in front of me made it crystal clear that what I am offering is something that many people need and I can confidently sell my services because I am fully aware of what I am offering to my clients and more.
The season of giving is full of things to give and people to give them to. But too often we are focused on the tangible or physical things we give to others. Consequently I wanted to present you with a few ideas of ways to give that are non-monetary as well as easy ways that you can build these into your life that will help you give all year round.
I want you to dream big, figure out your ultimate goal that makes you pumped up when you think about it. The goal that makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning. If you are like me this may take a while. When I first started my journey the goal was to pay off $30,000 in debt. After I hit that goal I realized that I had spent so many years just living day to day or week to week that I forgot how to dream big. I had been dreaming so small for so long that my brain protested every time I tried to dream big. I had to put some serious time and effort into retraining my brain to allow larger dreams to come.
I know when I say budget you are probably thinking “ugh I don’t want a budget telling me everything I can’t do.” I want to change your thinking on this. Budget is not a bad word. Many people who have tried and given up on budgets or those who have never tried often think of a budget as something that is restrictive or undesirable. I want to help you see it differently. The budget is actually something that is liberating and once you implement it, can make you feel like you got a raise, make your money stretch further, and give you power over your money instead of your money just walking away from you while you aren’t paying attention.
When you think of what it is going to be like to be a new parent, you don’t usually consider what you would do if you received bad news. Dealing with all of these emotions was incredibly trying for us but that wasn’t all of it. We also had to worry about money.
I went from living in my father-in-law’s basement $30,000 in debt, with nothing to show for it except a business degree to having a 6 figure net worth in 7 years. What do you think you can push yourself to accomplish?
Why should I care about getting my money in order? It will free you up to follow your dreams in life. You need money to achieve the majority of goals in your life so getting your money together will make it so you can get all the rest of your life together too. There are no dreams that couldn’t use the assistance of money. You can stop telling yourself no and start telling yourself yes to the important things. If you can say no to the things that don’t matter it gives you the ability to say yes to more of the things that do matter.
We came on this trip because this is where my father-in-law Dave would bring us over and over again. It was a magical place for him and sharing his love for it made it a magical place for us. He taught me more than anyone else that having money could be something incredible not flashy, compassionate not assuming, full of love not jealousy. He worked hard his whole life to provide the kind of life he wanted for his children, he lived modestly and saved smartly.
I feel like I should start with how you feel about money. Most of my clients in the beginning feel negatively about money, or are so afraid of money that they pretend like it’s unlimited or they will never have it. I used to feel that way, like no matter what I did I could never get ahead, I was always going to struggle, and that was just my reality. That is NOT true. You can start right here and right now!
Christmas happens the exact same time every year. I know this, and you know this. So how is it that every year we get to the holiday and realize we don’t have money for Christmas. Instead we freak out, try to find deals, try to pick up extra hours or odd jobs to get together the cash we need, or we just put it all on the credit card and then we can deal with it later.
I am on a mission to help save us all from the dreaded post-holiday depression that comes from out of control and unplanned holiday spending.
I met Melissa through the Dave Ramsey network. I was very nervous about my situation but after meeting with Melissa she help me so much. She came prepared to discuss my situation and had a plan to help me. She was very professional and a really sweet, kind lady. I have put her plan into action and feel so much better. I have reached out to her with questions a number of times since our first meeting and she has also reached out to me to see how I was and how things were going! I would definitely recommend Melissa Blandford. -Sondra Gregory
